Simmering Cajun Shrimp

  • 1 1/2 lbs. shrimp, shelled and cleaned and tails removed
  • 1 bottle of dark beer (12 oz.)
  • 2 cups light cream

Use a large skillet for this dish. Mix beer and New Orleans Seasoning together and cook until the mixture becomes very thick. Add the cream gradually while stirring. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat. Serve the shrimp in bowls with a crusty loaf of bread for dipping in the sauce.

NOTE: Shrimp cook very fast, usually in about 2 minutes. Be careful not to overcook it or it will be tough and dry.
