This is it, the stuffing recipe you will pass down to your children and grandchildren. This is everything you want a stuffing/drressing to be 1). crispy, crunchy and craggly edges yet tender in the middle, 2) the flavor is garlic-y, herb-y, and butter-y, ,and 3) absoluely perfect when topped with gravy, layered on a day-after Thanksgiving "gobbler" sandwich, or enjoyed plain as a side dish. 


2 tablespoons Turkey Rub
8 cups white bread, torn into 1 inch pieces
10 tablespoons butter
2 medium onions, diced
2 stalks celery, cut into ¼ inch pieces
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups chicken stock, divided
2 eggs

1. Preheat oven to 275°F. Arrange bread on rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 45 minutes or until the bread is dried out and crispy. Let cool to room temperature.
2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly butter 9x9 inch baking dish. Set aside.
3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat add the butter. Once melted add the onion, celery, Sage Poultry Rub, and salt. Sauté for 10 minutes, or until just brown. Stir in 1 cup stock. Let cool to room temperature.
4. In a large bowl, whisk the remaining 1 cup stock and the eggs. Stir in the bread, and reserved onion mixture. Mix well. Transfer to the prepared dish.
5. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. **see recipe tip**
6. Remove foil and bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is brown and crispy.
