I love dessert especially when I have my own individual piece of heaven. These cupcakes are perfect for any ocassion, including the ocassion of just wanting a delicious cupcake! 

Ingredients

1 1/2 teaspoons, divided Lavender
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3 large eggs, room temperature
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups sour cream
2 1/2 cups cake flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
2 cups unsalted butter, softened
2 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
13oz marshmallow cream or fluff
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
pinch kosher salt

Directions

To make the cupcakes
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 muffin tins with 20 cupcake liners. Set aside.
2. In bowl of a mixer with a paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar for 4 to 5 minutes, until light and fluffy.
3. Add the eggs 1 at a time, then add the vanilla, sour cream, and 1 teaspoon of lavender.
4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
5. With the mixer on low, add the flour mixture to the batter until just combined. Finish stirring with a spatula to be sure the batter is completely mixed. Make sure no lumps remain in batter.
6. Using an ice cream scoop, divide batter in the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
To make the frosting
1. In bowl of a mixer with a paddle attachment, cream the butter until light and fluffy, about 4 to 5 minutes.
2. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar, about 1/2 cup at a time; beat in vanilla extract and remaining 1/2 teaspoon lavender.
3. Gently fold the marshmallow creme into the frosting until thoroughly incorporated. This can set out at room temperature until ready to frost cupcakes.
